Purpose
Purpose
To increase awareness of the field of microbiology, as well as to support faculty and especially students in their research endeavors. Our main avenue for this support is through our Annual Meeting held each spring in various locations throughout Indiana. The Annual Meeting is a platform in which undergraduate and graduate students can present their research through posters and oral presentations.
IBASM offers student travel awards to the Annual Meeting. Both undergraduate and graduate students presenting oral and/or poster presentations at the Meeting are eligible.

ASM offers Peggy Cotter Awards for early career researchers to attend both the statewide Annual Meeting and the national ASM Microbe meeting.
